About Paso
Paso means step in Spanish, my first language. This platform is about taking those first gentle steps out into the world with your baby.
I created Paso as a first-time mom, an immigrant in Montreal, and someone who felt deeply isolated after giving birth, despite having a wonderful partner by my side. I didn't have my immediate family nearby or a circle of mom friends. What slowly helped was being brave enough to go out with my baby, even when it felt hard.
I quickly learned that babies don't follow plans. Some days we made it out the door, some days we didn't. Montreal has so many baby-friendly places and activities, yet finding them felt overwhelming. I had scattered notes, saved screenshots, and lists that were hard to use in the moment.
During contact naps, Paso began to take shape. I imagined a simple way to discover places nearby, understand what to expect, and try again later if plans changed, without having to redo all the searching every time.
Those small steps led me to connection, support, and friendships that changed my experience of early motherhood. Paso exists to give other parents that same gentle nudge outward. A tool to help break the isolation of parenthood, one step out at a time.
